What did you like about the program? - I liked how we practiced real MCAS program questions. The projects were fun too.
What would you like to see added? - I would like to see more help on answering the multi-choice questions. At the end of this program I would like a review sheet that has the tips we learned these past few weeks on.
Over all I think this program helped me. Hopefully I’ll remember what I learned in 10th grade.
What things do the restaurant owners need to consider when pricing their menu items? - They need to consider the tax of the food, the rent of the restaurant, the employees, and maybe the shipping of the food.
What price would you recommend to the owners and why? - I would recommend $2.00. The average price for a tostada is $1.83 and the highest price of a tostada is $2.18. I found the mean of both of those prices and used that to determine the price for every tostada.
What did you learn about open response questions? - I learned how to write the topic sentence and that I shouldn’t use the entire sentence as an excerpt. Today we worked on the tostada project. After that I went with Mrs. Hallett to do more multi-choice questions. Then we went with Mr. Hart to do questions on Skunk Man. After today I’m going over Kayla and Sarah Sypek’s.
Today I first went with Ms. Hart to do multi-choice questions on two poems. We also got back our other multi-choice questions and I did pretty good. After that I went in the computer lab and played some math games. Mrs. Belanger and Mrs. Hallett introduced a math project. I think it’s going to be fun! I guessed 10 possible combinations.
How do you use math in your everyday life? - I use math a lot outside of school. I use it to count down days until vacation and other things. I use it to count how much money I have. I measure paper when I do crafting. I also use math to sew and to make clothing sometimes.
Today we went with Mrs. Hallett to work on some multi-choice and a open response. Then we went with Ms. Hart to read a excerpt on cookies! After today I’m going to Rhode Island! Hopefully it doesn’t rain on us (again). Everytime we go on vacation it rains and it looks like it’s going to happen again ![]()
Today we presented our power points. I think everyone did really good. I went with Mrs. Hallett to answer some multi-choice questions (they weren’t too hard). Then I went with Ms. hart to write another open response question. I got back my work from last week from Ms. Hart and I did pretty good. I’m glad today is almost over because I have a huge headache and when I get home today I’m going to lay down on my bed and watch tv.
Lang. arts - When Sarah Sypek and I got to school we played checkers and snakes and ladders. Sarah won both games. Today we finished our power point. I think it came out pretty good. After break Katelyn and I went with Ms. Hart to learn more about the Lang. arts open response. Then we wrote an open response to the military dogs excerpt. I got 3/4 to 4/4 on it!
Math - Today I picked up Sarah Sypek. While we were waiting until 9:00 at the school we played chess and she won. I went with Mrs. Hallett to do 2 “find X” problems. At first it was hard, but if I did one more I think I would do better. My test scores were pretty good. I did really good on the multi-choice, but not too good on the open response. After that I went to work on the power point with Sarah; we finished 3 slides. I think today went by faster than last Thursday.
Today we went to take pictures of geometric shapes. I think Sarah and I got a couple really good ones. We also went with Ms. Hart to plan an open response answer. I think that really helped me today. Then I went with Mrs. Hallett to write another open response question.
Today Mrs. Hallett showed us how to answer a math MCAS question. There were a few things I didn’t know, until today. Mrs. Belanger told us that we’re going to take pictures of geometric shapes inside and outside of the school tomorrow. I love photography so I think it will be fun.
